Department of Psychology, Jain University (J.C.Road Campus), Bangalore, established in 2009, has received a Global attention for the academic and the extension activities even in its brief period of service. Department has been headed by Dr.Shailaja Sasthri, since 2013
The department have provisions for the following academic courses.
1. Undergraduate course specializing in Psychology
2. M.Sc. in Psychology
Specializations: 1. Clinical Stream 2. Industrial Stream 3. Counselling Stream
3. M.Phil. in Psychology
4. Ph.D. in Psychology
Apart from the academics, the department has got attention for its excellent contributions to the community through extension activities. A counselling centre named "Kalarava" has been opened to serve the public which provide Psychological Counselling and Psychotherapy. Annexed with "Kalarava" a "Play Therapy Centre" also has been established. Beneficiaries of Kalarava and the Play Therapy Centre include young children with behaviour problems, school going children with academic difficulties, adolescents facing challanges in career decision making, families that wish to learn relationship management and so on. Apart from these, department is active in consultancy programes such as corporate training, behavioural guidance, adolescent education, student's counselling, training in Play Therapy Techniques for teachers and professionals, Training in Design Thinking etc.
